Database Admin I


Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced DBA to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems and devices to process data. As our DBA, your job is to oversee the maintenance and security measures of company databases. Your duties include administration, maintenance, and performance analysis of databases.

Specific Duties

  • Designs and implements new methods, procedures, and systems (both automated and manual) to improve the processing and flow of information within the company.
  • Develops and provides documentation of the system specifications, including system scripts, system installation procedures, system backup and recovery techniques and system test methods.
  • Conducts and provides cost/benefit analyses for new proposed program modifications, methods, and procedures.
  • Analyzes, installs and configures applications; troubleshoots network problems, and monitors and evaluates system performance.
  • Establishes operational databases, software configuration controls and system interfaces for computer system(s) assigned.
  • Maintains file servers and network access; documents and analyzes system anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance.
  • Prepares systems for operational use and supports operational tests.
  • Assists clients in articulating and defining their business requirements and assists in preparing the business case justification for technical investment decisions.
  • Responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining database solutions related toreporting, data security, marketing and communications including but not limited to:
  • Create advanced query/selections/smart query/KPI’s/Dashboard. Aggregates data for management analysis using SQL and SSRS o Creates export definitions. 
  • Handles security for users, including permissions, roles, and defining security groups. Advanced query reporting for management analytics.
  • Test and validate underlying report data. Write SQL scripts to update data, write SQL or other querying code to extract and manipulate data from database systems.
  • Design, develop, and implement customized reports. Assist with the implementation and integration of third-party applications as they relate to RDBMS.
  • Proactively optimize data reporting performance and data quality. · Document, track changes, resolve issues, and maintain all required report design, enhancement, and/or modifications to RDBMS accordingly. · Ensure database optimization, integrity, consistency, and security. Responsible for working with users and analysts to identify/interpret business needs and user requirements in order to develop proper data solutions; gather and analyze raw data from various systems and reports.
  • Attends to CTO team and client meetings in NZ, AU, US or PH time zone as required


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred
  • Three or more years of system analysis or systems development experience
  • Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems, hardware and software
  • Experience working with relational databases to facilitate systems analysis
  • Good personal computer and business solutions software skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs
  • Communication skills to interact with team members and support personnel
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
  • Ability to work in a team environment
