Job Summary

The IT Manager will be responsible for the supervision, implementation, and maintenance of companies computing needs. He/she will ensure the secure and effective operation of all computer systems, related applications, hardware, and software used within the company.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in either of the following: BS Information Technology, BS Information Systems, BS Computer Science, or any equivalent IT degree

Specific Duties

  • Monitoring daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Performing audit software systems and infrastructure.
  • Running regular checks on network and data security
  • Identifying and acting on opportunities to improve and update software and systems
  • Overseeing and coordinating timeframes for all IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages.
  • Oversee IT activities such as testing, troubleshooting, and modifying information systems so that they operate effectively.
  • Oversee the AWS/Cloud environment.
  • Architect and manage the CI/CD platform and implementation. Page 2 of 4
  • Managing the IT budget and ensuring cost-effectiveness; conduct forecasting of requirements, preparing the annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
  • Generating performance reports for operating systems.
  • Preserving assets, information security and control structures.
  • Assuring all IT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes,
    and regulations.
  • Evaluating technology risks to develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup
    procedures.
  • Performing advanced new technology research and development which can be proposed to clients as an enterprise solution.
  • Managing IT staff by recruiting and training employees, communicating job expectations, and monitoring performance.
  • Remaining up-to-date with advances in technology and industry best practices.
  • Working closely with System Database Administration and other organisation assets and tools. 
  • Identify key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Performs weekly meetings, project debriefs, team assessments and evaluations.
  • Estimates project timelines and define project resources for project proposals.
  • Maintain vendor agreements.
  • Continuously evaluate IT management efficiency, processes, and effectiveness of infra monitoring tools to identify areas for improvement.
  • Confer with Human Resource Department (HRD) regarding job postings, job applicants and new hires.
  • Assist with HRD objectives by communicating job expectations and reviewing job performance.
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
  • Determine and enforce IT processes, SOPs and policies.
  • Builds relationships among different groups within and outside the department.
  • Attend CTO team and client meetings in NZ, AU, US or PH time zone as required.

Qualification

  • At least 7-10 years of exposure in system/software development implementation as a team lead and experience with tools and techniques for planning, organising, monitoring and controlling IT or related projects
  • Possesses a broad understanding of application programming, information systems design, system integration and other IT knowledge areas, with mastery of at least one of those areas
  • Proven working experience as an IT Manager or relevant experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software/IT security systems.
  • Proven experience in data center management (cloud or on-premise), data governance, IT infrastructure and services.
  • Has hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation such as cabling installation and support, wireless technology applications and interfaces.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Linux software, including server management, monitoring and maintenance.
  • With knowledge of a CI/CD Platform.
  • Has exemplary DevOps experience.
  • With people management and leadership skills.
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding leadership and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and informational skills (reading, writing, speaking, presentation, sensitive information)
  • Proven track record as a team leader (or higher capacity) in a previous project team.
